My name is Barbara Sykes. I’m married to the love of my life, Rev. Bobby Sykes. We have one daughter Christy, our Son-in-love George, two grandsons Ryan and wife Cynthia and CJ, and great-granddaughter Anastasia.
In 2010, I had surgery to remove an abscess from my colon. Before I had the surgery, I fainted in the shower and broke both my legs. I spent almost 2 months in the hospital. I came home at the end of February. Then on March 3rd I was taken to the hospital and I had a flesh-eating disease. I had six surgeries in six days, spent over a week in a coma. The surgery site was big enough to put three 2 liters of fluid in it. Doctors told my family she will not make it, plan her funeral. Well, God had other plans. Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you.” I praise the Lord because God is not through with me yet.
